Wu wei at the table

Not-doing at mealtime is not laziness. It is protecting attention.

Dao De Jing speaks of wei wu wei—acting without forcing. The point is not to freeze, but to stop spending yourself on movements that do not serve the moment.

One cup, one kettle, one cloth is enough. When tools are few, each gesture becomes legible to the hand and to the mind.

Wu wei here means releasing the inner demand for constant output. Pouring hot water, watching leaves open, is the completion. What you practice is letting the small thing be whole.
